Is it just me or does much of what Gen McPeak wrote in the NY Times sound like a broken record circa 1992?

It seems like the misinformation continues on the side of keeping Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. And much of what McPeak brings up are based on assumptions. One of the key points McPeak brings up is that the unit cohesion argument has not been brought up my pro-repeal groups. This is simple not the case. The fact is that taking out an effective servicemember out of a unit, does more to undermine unit cohesion than the “prospect” of having a gay member there. Oh and by the way, there are gays in the military and some have served openly with their units and so this is a moot point.
Gen McPeak’s arguments are 17 years old.
Here’s the Palm Center’s response to this: http://www.palmcenter.org/press/dadt/releases/palm_center_statement_response_merrill_mcpeak
